Sterling Savings Bank does not request confidential or personal information via e-mail or pop-up windows. If you receive a suspicious e-mail (“phishing” email) claiming to be from Sterling and you have inadvertently given out your account or personal information, immediately follow these steps below:
Receive a suspicious e-mail claiming to be from Sterling
- Do not respond to it nor use the link within the e-mail.
- Forward a copy of the message to phishing@sterlingsavings.com so that we can further investigate the source of these messages.
- If you have inadvertently given out your Sterling account information, immediately contact your local Sterling branch. links to location finder page
- Report this e-mail fraud to the Federal Trade Commission, or by calling 1-877-IDTHEFT and the FBI's Internet Fraud Complaint Center.

If you have inadvertently given out your account or personal information, immediately follow these steps below:
- Immediately report the fraud to your local Sterling Savings Bank branch.
- Report the e-mail fraud to the Federal Trade Commission, or by calling 1-877-IDTHEFT and the FBI's Internet Fraud Complaint Center.
- Forward a copy of the email message to phishing@sterlingsavings.com so we can further investigate the source of these messages.
- Contact one of the three major credit bureaus listed below to place a fraud alert on your credit file. You also can order a credit report to identify any unauthorized activity.
