Sterling Savings Bank does not request confidential or personal information via unsolicited calls, e-mail, pop-up windows, or SMS (text) messages. If you receive a suspicious e-mail (“phishing” email) claiming to be from Sterling and you have inadvertently given out your account or personal information, immediately follow these steps below:

Receive a suspicious e-mail claiming to be from Sterling

  1. Do not respond to it nor use the link within the e-mail.
  2. Forward a copy of the message to phishing@sterlingsavings.com so that we can further investigate the source of these messages.
  3. If you have inadvertently given out your Sterling account information, immediately contact your local Sterling branch or call us at 1-800-650-7141.
  4. Report this e-mail fraud to the Federal Trade Commission, or by calling 1-877-IDTHEFT and the FBI's Internet Fraud Complaint Center.

Suspect you are a victim of Email Fraud
If you have inadvertently given out your account or personal information, immediately follow these steps below:

  1. Immediately report the fraud to your local Sterling branch or call us at 1-800-650-7141. .
  2. Report the e-mail fraud to the Federal Trade Commission, or by calling 1-877-IDTHEFT and the FBI's Internet Fraud Complaint Center.
  3. Forward a copy of the email message to phishing@sterlingsavings.com so we can further investigate the source of these messages.
  4. Contact one of the three major credit bureaus listed below to place a fraud alert on your credit file. You also can order a credit report to identify any unauthorized activity.
