- Avoid emailing or texting personal or financial information.
- Look for indicators that websites you visit are secure including “https” in the web address and a “lock” icon on the bottom of your screen.
- Always keep your personal computer firewall enabled.
- Keep your operating system up-to-date with the latest security patches
- Use anti-virus and anti-spyware software and keep them updated
- Change your password(s)/pass-phrase(s) every three months and choose one that is hard to guess.
