FDIC Transaction Account Guarantee (TAG) Program Coverage Extended!
To give you, our valued customers, peace of mind that your money is safe and secure, Sterling Savings Bank is pleased to announce our participation in the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) Transaction Account Guarantee (TAG) Program has been extended through June 30, 2010.
The TAG program guarantees full deposit coverage of non interest-bearing transaction accounts*, regardless of the dollar amount and is in addition to, and separate from, the standard FDIC insurance that is currently $250,000 per depositor until December 31, 2013.

What’s covered?
As a Sterling Savings Bank customer, you can choose from a variety of consumer and business accounts covered under the TAG program. Some examples are:
- Traditional non-interest bearing checking accounts
- Payment Processing Accounts
- Interest on Lawyers Trust Accounts (IOLTAs)
- Negotiable order of withdrawal accounts (NOW accounts) with interest rates no higher than 0.50 percent
