REMEMBER: You’ll need to notify everyone with access to your checking account that you have moved to Sterling Savings Bank. This list only serves as a guideline. We encourage you to follow up with your contacts.

  1. After changing to your Sterling Savings Bank Perfect Fit Checking account, make note of your new account number:

  2. Stop using your previous checking account. Make sure to leave enough cash in the old account to cover any outstanding checks and other scheduled payments.

  3. Change automatic payments, withdrawals, or online bill payments to your new Sterling account, and set up Bill Pay.

  4. Redirect your payroll direct deposits from employers to your new Sterling account and contact companies who handle retirement, Social Security, pensions, etc.
  5. Contact anyone who made charges to your previous bank’s check card and ask them to charge all future payments to your new Sterling Check Card.
  6. Destroy checks, ATM/check cards, and deposit slips from your previous bank.
  7. Close your account with your previous financial institution.
